The purpose of this book is to bring the reader closer to the mentality underlying the literary sources of the Visigothic Kingdom of Toledo, a historical period spanning the 6th to 8th centuries AD in our Iberian Peninsula. Distancing itself from a positivist history based on a succession of battles, dates or types of weapons, this study sheds light on the worldview of war in this period known as Late Antiquity and will help us understand the way they approached war and how it was clothed in adjectives and sacred concepts to reveal the mentality of the time when it came to perceiving war as a judgment of God.
