Penelope, a little brown field mouse, came to live with us in San Francisco in the 1960s. She was inquisitive and a very adventurous mouse who would turn up where you'd least expect her to be. Penelope learned manners, enjoyed meeting new people and she was especially fond of high tea. This is the story of her adventures living with us and then sneaking into our luggage so she could explore?London while we were on vacation there. She?even ended up having high tea with Her Majesty, the Queen. While living with us, my little sister made Penelope?her own living quarters in her bedroom, but once Penelope learned how to get out, we never knew...

With her dexterous little paws, she cleverly found her way into anything she chose, including the biscuit tin!?My sister also made her tiny clothes which Penelope would wear when she chose. One year, we had no idea that Penelope had joined us on our London vacation until she popped out of my purse at high tea! After that, she continued to explore London on her own, including touring Buckingham Palace and eventually?deciding to stay in London when w
