The Radical Poster Collective was established in 2022 with the intention of collating and making available a collection of radical posters. This is our first published collection, hand-picked by the collective members, to give a flavour of the posters that were in circulation during the Spanish Revolution and Civil Wat. Propaganda posters became a vital tool in the struggle -in context of relatively low literacy levels- used by anarchist, socialist, and communist groups to rally support, educate the masses, and inspire resistance. These posters were not just art -they were a direct extension of the revolutionary movement,...
plastered on city walls, and distributed in union halls. They simbolised and idealised the workers' defiance against fascism and their vision of a new society.
